Do you have dry, itchy eyes?
If so, it may be more than just allergies. Here are some medical reasons why you may have dry eye troubles:
- Decreased tear production - causes may include Sjogren’s syndrome, rheumatoid arthritis, or collagen vascular disease.
- Increased tear evaporation - causes may include acne rosacea, Vitamin A deficiency, or blepharitis.
Symptoms of dry eyes can be broad but tend to cause burning, foreign body sensation, tearing, red eyes, discharge, blurred vision, and light sensitivity. These symptoms are intensified by smoke, wind, reading, and extended hours on the computer.
If you frequently experience these symptoms, you may have a medical condition that we can help. Click here to get started by downloading our Dry Eye Questionnaire, and bring it with you to your next eye examination.
